Sheryl H. Statman Ph.D. Rehabilitation Neuropsychologist Dr. Sheryl H. Statman has been a practicing Neuropsychologist since 1987. She worked for 5 and 1/2 years at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY as a Rehabilitation Neuropsychologist on their inpatient trauma unit and treating outpatients. She has had a private practice in Rye, NY since 1990 specializing in neuropsychological testing, diagnosis, cognitive rehabilitation, and personal therapy of individuals with neurologically compromising conditions, which include Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke, Learning Disabilities, and Spectrum Disorders.

From 1993 until 2006, Dr. Statman designed, implemented, and supervised the Traumatic Brain Injury Program through the Rockland ARC which was comprised of three residences, a day program, and vocational supports for young men with TBI. She is a consultant for ACCES-VR (Adult Career and continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation), a state funded program for vocational and educational training and career development, and the Blaisdell Addiction Treatment Center, an inpatient substance abuse rehabilitation program designed for individuals with brain injuries. She also lectures and does trainings for various community organizations involved in the treatment of the Brain Injured and Learning Disabled populations.

Dr. Statman received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Temple University in 1987. Her Doctoral Intership was completed at the Center for Head Trauma, Devereux Foundation, in Devon, Pennsylvania. Her Dissertation is titled, "The Evolution of Depression over the first Two Years Post Head Trauma". She is a member of the Brain Injury Association of America, the Brain Injury Association of New York State, and a member of Division 22 (Rehabilitation Psychology) and Division 40 (Clinical Neuropsychology) of the American Psychological Association.
